Warning: This journal is me ranting about a bad game.

I had recently downloaded the mirror's edge demo and thought, "This is really fun and interesting." so I decided to buy the game despite everyone saying it was a terrible game. Unfortunately, right after the part where the demo left off, it proved to be the most annoying game I have ever played. It seems like a game that you can experience the joy of running at insanely fast speeds and be doing amazing tricks and it kinda is like that...until you have to stop and look around which is very frequent. It incorporates a small bit of puzzle solving which I don't mind one bit if it weren't for the fact you usually have ten cops shooting at you nonstop so you feel rushed. All the reviews I have read all agree that it's a game of trial and error but the problem is the error. I can understand the fact that you have to try some things more than once to get them right but it seems as if the game actually INTENDS for you not to get it until you try and try. So what's the major flaw of that? Not only is it frustrating, but the story isn't interesting enough to make you want to try repeatedly. Some may say that even though it takes a long time to make it through the harder obstacles, there's always a sense of 'accomplishment' afterwards. Personally, I find that untrue as every time I tried something my tenth time over and finally get it, I think "Finally!" only to be faced with something more annoying just one minute away. Also, I keep hearing that the time trials are the highlight of the game but here's the thing: you unlock the time trials by completing the levels they're based on AND they're the same thing as the level! So in case it didn't annoy you enough with cops shooting at you, this time you can try with a timer judging you and it almost seems as if it's mocking you when you miss a jump because the main character didn't grab a ledge that she was meant to and the end result is "Too slow!" it doesn't make me want to try again (this game seems almost based on wanting you to do the same thing over and over again)

In short: I highly recommend the demo because, although short, it's fun and free. Just avoid the actual game like the plague. I seriously bought it yesterday and am already thinking of selling it just to get back a small amount of what I lost buying it.

OH! And can anyone recommend a good game for the xbox 360?
